The Doctor and Peri travel to Earth in 1985 and are soon caught between the returning alien foe, Lytton, and the Cybermen, who are determined to save their home world of Mondas from its destruction in 1986. They take everyone to Telos, the location of the tombs of Cybermen, in order to carry out their diabolical plot. But the natives of the planet, whom the Cybermen thought they wiped out long ago, have survived and revenge is on their minds.
